What is Outbound Sales Representative?

Outbound Sales Representative’s main role is to function as a point of contact for customers on behalf of the company. They are the one who usually educates the customer and provide relevant information regarding the offered product and services. Their main goal is to convert a lead into a sale. This is often why it’s extremely critical that organizations work with an extended workforce that fully understands the business requirements. Below are just some of the responsibilities performed by an OSR.

  • Make outgoing calls to potential customers to schedule high-quality leads for sales
  • Make sales or recommendations for products or services that may better suit client needs
  • Retrieve customer information and enter it into the system
  • Follow up leads to get it converted into sales
  • Set up new customer accounts, access existing customer accounts, and manage sensitive customer data across one or more computer systems
  • Answer customer’s questions and clarifications regarding product and services
